No incident in the entire proceedings of last week has caused so much comment as the action of Judge David Davis on Friday night in dodging the vote on Butler's admission. On Monday he made a speech advocating Thurman's resolution to take Butler's credentials from the committee and said that he was prepared to vote upon them without a report from the committee.
