I am one of the many D.C. residents who pay to park on the street where I live if I'm lucky enough to find a spot. In order to have the "privilege" of parking' on Second Street SE, where I reside, I pay the city close to $300 a year because I don't have access to a garage and, sadly, a parking spot did not come with my apartment.
