In the Criminal Court the argument on the motion for a new trial in the case of Ex-Secretary of Treasury, F.T. Sawyer, F.W. Brooks and W.H. Haines, convicted of conspiracy to secure payment for false claim against the United States was concluded. Justice MacArthur decided to grant the parties a new trial. In the meantime all of the understanding that they would furnished additional bail.
