The Chickasaw Delegation had an interview yesterday with the Acting Commissioner of Indian Affairs, to present arguments, deprecating rulings recently made by the Secretary of the Interior upon the affairs of their nation. The Chickasaws have a custom called, by them the "Permit law," whereby every white man residing within their territory is subjected to an "initiation fee of twenty five dollars.
