The exceedingly beautiful astronomical phenomenon presented Saturday night, the conjunction of the planet Venus and the Moon, was witnessed by many thousand people. The central parts of streets, the Patent Office, and other public buildings, the terraced west front of the Capitol, as well as the upper windows of houses, were crowded with people eager to witness a, sight, the exact counterpart of which will probably not be seen again in the lifetime of this generation.
