WHILE the Calfornians are discussing the proposition of restricting Chinese immigration the Choctaw Indians are in grand council debating whether white men shall be allowed to settle among them. The people seem to desire to fraternize with the pale faces, but their chiefs do not desire this as they fear it would weaken their influence and deprive them of their resources of wealth.
