NEW YORK, Dec. 4. -- Money was more active and dearer this afternoon, and loaned up to 7 per cent gold, and closing at 6. Gold opened at 102 advanced to 3/4, closed at 1/8. Govt. hands declined 7/8 @ 1/4 per cent. In State bonds the feature was a drop of 4 per cent, in Tennessees, which sold at 42 @ 43 on a rumor that the legislature of the State would decline, the preposition of the New York Arbitration Committee.
