About 9 o'clock on Saturday evening, while Colonel F.A. Secley, U.S.A., on his way to visit a friend, was passing along Massachusetts avenue, near Second street, northeast, he was assaulted and robbed by an unknown person. Colonel Secley states that his assailant approached him from behind, and that he had no intimation of the assault until he felt the blow, which was of such force as to render him senseless on the instant.
