Seabiscuit galloped into theaters last week as the subject of one of the summer's big movies. It's the story of a little horse with crooked legs who became a superstar in the 1930s when the United States was going through the "Great Depression," a time when many people couldn't find jobs and had little money.

I think everyone [likes] the underdog, and Seabiscuit may be the greatest underdog in sports history. He was the biggest newsmaker of 1938, and I think the things that made him so famous then will appeal to America today as well.
