[Laura Blumenfeld] states: "But Navy culture in particular is rooted in adventure and promiscuity, the drunken sailor, curses like a sailor, a girl in every port." The Navy is an adventure, which is why the words were used as a recruiting slogan. I did not find a "culture" of promiscuity. Promiscuity existed, as it does everywhere, but as a culture - bunk, to be polite.
