The site will include three buildings with 270,000 square feet of space . . . The old D.C. Fire Department stables at 410 8th St. NW, built in the 1890s, are being renovated by Harvey Construction Co. into a six-story, 44,000-square-foot exhibition hall and artists center . . . A total of 84,106 homes were sold in Virginia last year, the highest total ever, according to the Virginia Association of Realtors, and up from the 1985 figure of 67,777 . . . The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. (Freddie Mac) bought $103 billion worth of mortgages last year, more than double its 1985 total . . .
