[Karen Egolf] also noted that two of the 40 news directors polled were from other stations in Philadelphia, the market where [Doreen Gentzler] worked before she came to WRC, and that "NBC news directors may keep tabs on anchors at other affiliates." In addition, Gentzler got national exposure when she anchored "NBC News at Sunrise" and news cut-ins during "The Today Show" for a week last June. At WRC, Gentzler replaced Dave Marash and joined "by far the best group of people I've ever worked with, both the people in front of the cameras and those behind. The four of us at 6 and 11 who are working together {Gentzler, [Jim Vance], sports reporter George Michael and weatherman Bob Ryan} are four strong people. Nobody is covering for anybody else there; nobody is trying to patch up somebody else's weakness. It's four people who have done this for a while and know what they're doing, and nobody's insecure. And there are also four different personalities.
