At House's Barber Shop, members of the Greater Southeast Community Hospital medical staff conduct monthly high blood pressure testing for willing participants over 16. The main objective of the program is to extend the life expectancy of black Washingtonians by reducing the risk of undetected cardiovascular disease.

Volunteers conduct blood pressure screenings on the third Wednesday of every month, and meet with [William Driscoll] and [Barbara Owens] every two months to schedule educational activities for program participants and customers who have been detected as having high blood pressure.
