In Salsomaggiore, Italy, about 350 people from 17 countries competed in the 10th World Pizza Championship. The competition is divided into several categories: classic pizza; pizza in a baking tray; fastest pizza; largest pizza; and, yes, even freestyle pizza acrobatics. The reigning world pizza-maker was Maurizio Gaccione, who works in a pizzeria in the north Italian city of Trento. "I learned to be quick in the pizzeria where I work," said Italian pizza-maker Andrea Mandinella. "When you make more than 400 pizzas a day you have to be quick."
