In Bob Garfield's criticism ["The Funny Thing Is . . . It Hasn't Always Been," Outlook, Feb. 13] of "Peanuts"'s last 15 years, he makes the " 'Peanuts' isn't funny" argument for what must be the 13th time since Charles Schulz announced his retirement. I have been reading these tracts with a great deal of skepticism. I can thank Garfield, at least, for mentioning the visual marvels Mr. Schulz charmed us with. Too bad he did not note how wonderful that aspect has been in recent years.
