The new early-out authority approved by the Office of Personnel Management covers the Departments of Labor and Commerce, the administrative office of the U.S. Courts, the Federal Maritime Commission, the General Services Administration, the Government Printing Office, the Social Security Administration and the U.S. Information Agency. Last week, OPM gave early-out authority to the Departments of Agriculture, Defense, Energy, Health and Human Services, Interior, Transportation and Veterans Affairs. It also approved early-outs for the General Accounting Office, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities and Tennessee Valley Authority. All early-outs run through Sept. 30, 1997. The CIA has a special early-out program that will be open only from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 of this year.
