Right-wing media critic Brent Bozell and left-wing media critic Jeff Cohen seem like perfect debating partners. But Bozell has been refusing to appear on television with Cohen -- or anyone else from the group Cohen founded, Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting -- and producers are going along.

In March, MSNBC's "Alan Keyes Is Making Sense" invited FAIR senior analyst Steve Rendall to argue about press bias with Bozell, who heads the Media Research Center. But the booker called Rendall back to say Bozell would not go on with him -- and the program bounced Rendall in favor of two other liberal guests.

Now comes P.J. Corkery, the Examiner's gossip columnist, to say that [David Burgin] e-mailed him last fall "that I was to begin daily attacks on Willie Brown," the San Francisco mayor. According to Corkery, Burgin told him the mayor was now the "enemy" of the Fang family, which owns the Examiner. Corkery says two members of the family denied knowing anything about the edict.
