One Man Sentenced In Red Ball Case, Second Defendant Let Go

Craig Claxton also was escorted to court Wednesday for sentencing; however, Gomez freed him of his conviction. [Curtis Gomez] said that although the jury returned a guilty verdict for Claxton, he did not find sufficient evidence to sustain a conviction, and he granted a motion for dismissal filed by Susan Bruch Moorehead on Claxton's behalf. Moses, Claxton, Walter Ells, Vernon Fagan, Dorian Swan and Kerrie Woods all were convicted May 31 on charges of conspiring to distribute cocaine. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner.
