Dozens of people gathered around the Pueblo, baffled to see two emergency medical technicians working to stabilize the seriously injured girl high atop the side of the supermarket wall. The rescue workers had climbed a tall ladder to get to the victim, then used a bucket truck to lower the girl to an ambulance. "I've been on scenes where people were thrown far from a car, but I've never seen anything like that," St. Thomas Police Chief Rodney Querrard said. [John Edwards] said that for a second he feared he was going to be seriously injured. But when he realized he was not hurt, he got out of his truck and tried to figure out what had just happened. "I was amazed. I was wondering how she got up there," the taxi driver said. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Further reproduction or distribution is prohibited without permission.
