"This reflects everything we've been saying," Mayor Chris Doherty said. "Scranton is a great place to raise a family, and we keep getting recognized nationally."

"The people of Pittsburgh are very nice and I've said it time and again that Pittsburgh, with its neighborhoods and different ethnic groups, is a big Scranton," Mr. [Austin Burke] said. "I think our time has come. I think this started 30 years ago and, like Mayor Doherty has said, we've kept hitting singles, not home runs. We put men on base and moved them over and now we're scoring."

"Things are so much better now," Mr. Burke said. "This has been a week of good news for Scranton with the interparliamentary session wrapping up, Al Boscov looking as though he's going to be successful and, now, Business Week trumpeting our biggest virtue, quality of life. God knows what we'll tackle next. The sky is the limit."
