Andrew Harold Pertushka, 22, of Old Street, Hazleton, was arrested by [McAdoo] police on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, not possessing a driver's license and having a noisy auto muffler after his car was pulled over for the muffler at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30. When police asked [Duane E. Hilliard Sr.] to step outside, he allegedly shoved Trooper Thomas Swiech and attempted to close the door, court papers state. Swiech grabbed Hilliard's arm and attempted an arrest, but Hilliard ignored troopers' commands and continued to shove Swiech, court papers state, then hit the trooper in the face with his elbow, knocking the trooper's glasses off his face and breaking them. At that point, Swiech and Trooper Christopher Zukowsky pulled Hilliard out of the home and handcuffed him, court papers state. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner.
