MARION HEIGHTS - The Pennsylvania State Police's Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the Marion Heights Fire Company on Jan. 10 for a gambling violation. According to a press release, the violation was found Nov. 18 and the fire company either possessed or operated gambling devices or paraphernalia, or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on the licensed premises. COAL TOWNSHIP - Coal Township police issued a warning Monday to area residents to be aware of a scam involving checks from an account supposedly associated with the World Baton Twirling Federation for items purchased on Internet auction sites.
