John P. Heffner, 25, of Orwigsburg, is charged with three counts of simple assault, two of aggravated assault and one each of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person, while Rachel A. Schaeffer, 31, of Valley View, is charged with four counts of simple assault and two each of conspiracy and endangering the welfare of children.

Minersville police allege that Heffner and Schaeffer assaulted an 11-year-old boy Aug. 8 at Schaeffer's former residence in the borough.
