Abstract (Document Summary)

Thomas J. Logan violated the law he was entrusted to uphold, Lackawanna County Deputy District Attorney Robert Klein said at the former Dickson City police officer's sentencing on Wednesday.

Lackawanna County Judge Vito P. Geroulo sentenced the 16-year veteran of the borough Police Department to two to 18 months in Lackawanna County Prison for filing a fake insurance claim and illegally killing a deer.

"It's imperative that we trust our law enforcement," Mr. Klein said, yet when a police officer is charged with a crime it violates the public's trust that they do the "right thing, day in and day out."
