Kilby said she was just about to sign a lease on a building at Gratiot and Rattle Run roads in St. Clair Township when a very generous offer came on the table -- a supporter donated $150,000 so the group could purchase the former Jehovah's Witnesses building, which the donor felt was perfect for the program.
