Abstract (Document Summary)

On July 7, 2003, Dave McNally, president of the North Halton Golf and Country Club, appeared before council making a pitch to acquire a strip of land between the golf course and a proposed new subdivision through a deal with the town.

Last May 31, after a planning report, council voted to exchange the 1.4-hectare strip sought by McNally for a piece of land abutting another part of the subdivision. The record shows Councillor Jane Fogal abstained from the vote because she's related to McNally.

McNally was unavailable for comment, but course general manager Ian Scott said there was no link between [Steve Andrews]' resignation and McNally's council appearance.
