Abstract (Document Summary)

Guinness World Records announced another TV-related milestone last week Regis Philbin, the male half of Live! With Regis and Kelly and host of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, now holds the record for "Most Hours on Camera."

Since his career started in San Diego back in 1958, Philbin has logged 15,188 camera hours which, as the good folks at Guinness calculated, translates into "roughly one hour a day for the past 46 years."

REUTERS PHOTO Regis Philbin is presented a plaque by Guinness World Records researcher Stuart Claxton last week for spending more hours than anyone in front of U.S. television cameras. Philbin logged 15,188 hours by the end of Friday's telecast of Live! With Regis And Kelly, passing retired newsman Hugh Downs.
