Abstract (Document Summary)

It was made by Natalie Sapieha, strolling seriously between the small oven and the small counter, on the other side of which sat her one customer, her dad, watching her work the cafe at the Children's Own Museum.

The floor plan of the museum was designed with stations and places similar to those found in a child's neighbourhood, city and province. Aside from the cafe, there's the mine, the post office (sponsored by Canada Post, complete with a kid-sized blue and white striped shirt) and the market (shoes were on the shelves Saturday, but sometimes there are flowers).

Ron Bull/TORONTO STAR LAST MEAL: Sarah Salisbury, 5, holds a snake and a bear while sister Emily, 8, collects food for them at the Children's Own Museum. The non-profit educational centre is to close at the end of the week.
