Abstract (Document Summary)

He's about to go before the camera in one of his own greatest creations, Dido And Aeneas, adapted to dance from English composer Henry Purcell's 1689 opera.

[Mark] Morris created the dark, libidinous work in 1989, casting himself as both Dido and the Sorceress.

For Dido, he'll wear his hair tied back, projecting the nobility of the Queen of Carthage who is undone by her passion for Aeneas and the scheming of the Sorceress.
