Abstract (Document Summary)

[Wayne Gretzky] was introduced to [Sergei Fedorov] at the NHL All-Star Game in New York City five months ago by Paul Coffey, and Fedorov recently spent two weeks at Gretzky's L.A. home.

He finished second to Fedorov for the Selke, and fourth in MVP voting, just ahead of Montreal goalie Patrick Roy. Surprisingly, he also finished third in all-star voting at centre behind Fedorov and Gretzky, even though Gretzky didn't get a single vote for MVP.
