Abstract (Document Summary)

Another 100 people from Red Deer Lake and the Indian Birch reserve remained out of the homes they fled after roads to the communities were washed out.

The threat of flooding still hangs over numerous communities in the Swan River valley, an agricultural area squeezed between the Porcupine and Duck Mountain provincial forests near the Saskatchewan boundary.

Heavy rainfall left many areas knee-deep in water and produced flash floods which washed out seven bridges and closed three highways and numerous roads, said Government Services Minister Gerry Ducharme.
