Abstract (Document Summary)

It was the fourth consecutive Canadian Maturity win for Sam-Son and Day. They won last year with Dance Smartly, in '91 with Sky Classic and in '90 with Most Valiant. Sam-Son also won this event in 1983 with Twice an Angel.

Classic Reign was sent off yesterday as the second choice behind Frank Stronach's Blitzer and it was this pair that battled it out to the wire with Classic Reign winning by half a length.

Notes: Ontario-based horses ran second, third and fourth in yesterday's $150,000-added Delaware Handicap at Delaware Park. Green Darlin won while Girl on a Mission was second, Starry Val third and Hope for a Breeze fourth.
