Abstract (Document Summary)

Before the council debate, [Vaughan] residents staged a noisy protest outside Metro Hall. Carrying signs which read: "We Eat Dust," "Metro Politics Stinks," and "Metro Be Fair," the protesters chanted, "Set us Free."

"We are toying with the emotions of people of Vaughan and the people of Metro," said Councillor Mike Colle (York Eglinton). "We don't want to get back into this garbage mess. It is a lose-lose situation for Metro."
