Abstract (Document Summary)

The Scarborough Board of Education is scrambling to solve the urgent problem of finding a home for its 850 adult students by next fall.

Doreen Howe, president of Donwood Park Community Association, wrote a letter last week to board chairman Dianne Williams complaining the residents were not notified of a proposal to locate the adult program at Highbrook Learning Centre.

The [Scarborough] board has been promised $8-to-$12 million for relocating the adult program but it's unlikely that's enough to put up a building and buy the needed land.
