Abstract (Document Summary)

Until the road is completed, the truck traffic will still be driving through the village. And as the highway is built north from Bovaird Drive, Brampton Councillor Peter Robertson said traffic will get worse.

Both Robertson and Brampton Alderman Paul Palleschi want the highway extension to follow a route slightly to the north of the one selected by the ministry - away from [Snelgrove]'s 600 residents - and they want it built as soon as possible, to end the stress on the area created by traffic that should be channelled onto Highway 10.

Robertson says Brampton and Caledon have agreed on a route north of the proposed residential area, now zoned agricultural. Brampton, Caledon and Peel have agreed that the highway act as a northern boundary for urban development, he says, to preserve preserve agricultural land.
