Abstract (Document Summary)

Yet a quick glance at a list of winners since the Maturity was first scheduled in 1953 reveals some outstanding Canadian-bred horses - Ace Marine, Nearctic, Wonder Where, Hidden Treasure, Good Old Mort, He's A Smoothie, Belle Geste, Nice Dancer, Norcliffe, Overskate, Glorious Song and Frost King.

There are 14 horses lined up for tomorrow's 36th edition of the Maturity, the richest ever with a total purse of $131,870. The winner will be famous for about 15 minutes, as the late Andy Warhol would say, but it likely won't be long before the money is gone and this Maturity champion fades from memory.
