Abstract (Document Summary)

Metro separate school trustees are protesting a provincial plan that will result in the loss of four trustee seats.

Metro's separate school trustees are equally upset that the Metro public school board is the only one in Ontario exempt from the legislation because of its two-tiered system. Delegates to the Metro- wide board come from local boards in each municipality.

Meanwhile, based on the population of Metro public school supporters, the proposed 104 public trustees will represent an average of only 13,800 electors, an inequity the separate board wants corrected.
