Abstract (Document Summary)

They show that traffic on Weston Rd., Keele, Jane and Bathurst Sts. has declined over recent years; but, says [Vince Murphy], that relief is directly related to the 1982 opening of Black Creek Drive, the Highway 400 extension southward from Highway 40l, as well as to heavier use of the Allan Road and the Don Valley Parkway.

[Mel Lastman] expresses "dismay" at the continued refusal of first [William Davis] and now Premier [David Peterson] to budge on the Spadina issue.

Until now, Toronto City Council has stood strongly against reviving the Spadina expressway. The idea of going over the heads of the council to poll city residents on the question originated with the City of North York Business Association, which asked North York to share 50-50 the cost of an opinion survey of Toronto residents.
