The so-called Common Sense Revolution that turned Ontario politics on its ear a decade ago was back in the spotlight yesterday as three former Mike Harris Conservatives captured key roles in Prime Minister Stephen Harper's cabinet.

Canadians needn't fear Ottawa will adopt the Harris mantra of tax cuts, reduced spending and smaller government, say experts, citing the constraints Harper faces: a minority government and the need to build support in a tactically vital province.

Political observers say Canadians needn't fear the Liberal threat that Harris allies in Ontario would fuel a fend-for-yourself approach to government in Ottawa.
