[Mike Kelly] recalls [Todd Bertuzzi] getting a 15-game suspension for a kicking incident involving Kitchener Rangers defenceman Brad Barton late in the 1991-92 season. He was only 16 at the time. "It was an irrational moment for him," said Kelly about Bertuzzi's assault on [Steve Moore]. "But I wouldn't paint him as someone who likes to hurt people." "I feel for both parties involved," said [Steve Spott], picking his words carefully. "I know it might shock some people, but I firmly believe he (Bertuzzi) didn't want to hurt Steve Moore. He'll no doubt have to pay the consequences, though. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Further reproduction or distribution is prohibited without permission.
