Grey Cup still has some shine: Large TV audience expected
[City Edition]
Kitchener - Waterloo Record

Kitchener, Ont.
Again this year - with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers meeting the Edmonton Eskimos - the Grey Cup game will be shown on TV by the English network of CBC and the Canadian Football Network, or CFN, a group of independent English broadcasters. The lack of French involvement certainly undermines the place of the game in national mythology. Yet there's a sense, at least at CBC, that the Grey Cup is a unique time each year when Canadians enjoy a pause from their quarrels. "I would be hard pressed to name you any other event that brings people together the way the Grey Cup does," says Lee Herberman, senior producer of the Grey Cup coverage on CBC.
