This is how Titanic: The Long Night starts, with Elizabeth Farr's memory of being in a flimsy lifeboat with 20 or more survivors in the cold, black ocean. The book charts the days from when Titanic leaves port at Southampton to the fateful night when the "unsinkable" sank, to when the Carpathia docks in New York with Titanic's survivors. I had never been interested in the Titanic story, except the recent film, until I had read this book by [Diane Hoh]. Now, I want to know more about this tragedy. It's that good. Hoh is a gifted author who knows how to touch her readers' hearts. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Further reproduction or distribution is prohibited without permission.
