Men, rural people and those who live in Atlantic Canada tip the scales when it comes to being fat, according to a recent national study on obesity.

For example, in Atlantic Canada, the study classified 41 per cent of rural men and 42 per cent of urban men as obese.

Over all across Canada, 37 per cent of rural men and 30 per cent of rural women were obese, compared with 34 per cent of men and 29 per cent of women in cities.
