Wilson's budget was "not bold enough" to offset the negative perception of the Canadian dollar, said Midland Doherty economist Roger Keane.

Wilson's strategy for reducing the deficit in the fiscal year starting April 1 and in subsequent years is also open to doubt, Keane said.
