 Abstract (Document Summary)

It's been just over a year since a team at Sick Kids separated Win and Lin Htut of Burma - also joined near the waist - in a 17- hour operation. Win and Lin are now both home in Burma again.

"The difference is that (Meera and Shiva) both have two legs," said Annie Massey of Sick Kids, who met them at the airport. The Htut twins had only one leg each.

Like the Htut twins, these boys share one set of genitalia. But Dr. Ron Zucker, who was also at the airport to welcome the family, has said it may be possible for both to remain boys. (Win Htut, on the other hand, was transformed surgically into a girl during the separation).
