 Abstract (Document Summary)

Doctors are expected to perform [Joey Philion]'s 42nd operation in about two weeks to graft skin to his feet and a portion of his back and thighs. The process, which takes several weeks to heal, will require at least two operations, said [Ronald Zuker].

Joey is "not out of the woods yet" because 20 per cent of his flesh remains without skin and at risk of infection, Zuker told a news conference yesterday.

The burn unit's team of 20 medical professionals - including a physiotherapist, a psychiatrist and a social worker - have been assessing Joey's physical and mental condition since his return to Sick Kids Monday from the Shriners Burns Institute in Boston.
