 5 teenagers charged in sex attack on girl

The unidentified victim, now 18, met a group of youths in a local park and then went to the nearby home of two of the teens charged in the case, 18-year-old twins [Kevin Scherzer] and Kyle Scherzer, said Essex County prosecutor Herbert Tate. Kyle Scherzer and Peter Quigley, 18, were charged with conspiracy and two counts of aggravated sexual assault. Quigley was accused of cheering on the assault. A 17-year-old male and another student who has since turned 18 are charged as juveniles on all three counts, Tate said. Both boys have appeared in Family Court, said Ray Weiss, a spokesman for Tate.
