The new company, resulting from the merger announced Monday between Alliance Communications Corp. and Atlantis Communications Inc., will have a projected market capitalization of about $750 million and assets totalling $850 million. That would place the combined company among the top 12 in North America. Atlantis co-founder, chairman and chief executive Michael MacMillan will become the new chairman and chief executive of Alliance Atlantis Communications. Atlantis president Lewis Rose will become president. "The big issue here is that the management is now Atlantis. The company, no matter what it is called, is run by Atlantis and this has been missed by a lot of people," said the source, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
