BYE BYE THEA: TSN has quietly turned out the lights on Guys TV and it had nothing to do with Thea Andrews' clothing budget. "We found it very difficult to schedule the show around events on a regular basis," says Phil King, TSN senior vice-president of programming. "Thea's contract was up last month and we decided not to renew it." Low ratings didn't help and sources say Andrews was often not available to shoot segments. The host will be seen on TSN again, says King. "She's a very talented broadcaster and we hope to use her on a freelance basis," he says. ... The Team has added former Jays GM Gord Ash and former L.A. Dodgers manager Kevin Malone as analysts for the baseball playoffs. Ash will appear regularly on the morning and afternoon drive shows. ... The Score has hired Patricia Boal and Deb Matejicka to staff its new bureaus in Ottawa and Calgary. ... TSN has added the Oct. 20 Winnipeg-B.C. game to its CFL schedule. ... Former national team player and coach Jay Triano joins TSN for its NBA pre-game shows. ... The FAN 590's High School Show, Sundays at 9: 30 a.m., is celebrating its 10th season.
