Abstract (Document Summary)

After the murder, the Jaques children vowed to protect their parents, but the recent news of [Robert Kribs]' impending parole hearing has made that task more difficult. After hearing of it on Portuguese- language radio, [Emanuel Jaques]'s father wanted to appear before the board, but his daughter talked him out of it, fearing the stress would be too much for him.

[Saul Betesh] and Kribs became eligible to apply for full parole in August and originally waived their right to a hearing, but Kribs has since changed his mind and is exercising his right, the parole board says.

[Dale Brazao]/Toronto Star REST IN PEACE: Flowers adorn the grave of Emanuel Jaques, whose body was found on the roof of a Yonge St. body-rub parlour in 1977. One of his killers, Robert Kribs, far left, now seeks parole.
